Energy Independence

As your Congressman, I will sponsor or co-sponsor legislation that:

• Allows and encourages domestic (inland) and offshore drilling for oil and natural gas
• Provides incentives to private sector development of alternative fuel sources through tax credits – NOT Subsidies
• Restricts the regulatory powers of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
• Places domestic energy permitting and production regulation directly under the Department of Energy, not the EPA
• Expands the tax credits available for alternative energy vehicles and real property efficiency improvements
• Eliminates the Federal Excise tax on fuels; Allows the individual states to impose, administer and collect excise taxes on fuels
• Supports expansion of Nuclear Energy generation facilities
• Opposes or repeals any pending or enacted “Cap and Trade” legislation in the House of Representatives
